Thank you for your donations! Our current pledges and donations
are about 80% of our goal.
We need your help to make this project possible. We invite corporations and small business to join us in the effort by selecting one of the four tiers to make a contribution. Together we can make this happen.
The football stadium, which opened in 1956, has been plagued with poor drainage over the years. Despite the installation of additional drainage pipes in 1994, the field problems have persisted. Rainy fall weather and the frequent usage of the field often turn it into a quagmire. Mud and puddles of water have made the field unplayable and unsafe for our opponents and our student athletes. We have been forced to cancel and/or move games and matches to other venues. We have had times when the band has been unable to march, due to the field’s unsafe condition. Instead, the band has been forced to remain on the sidelines and perform there at halftime.
Please consider making a donation to the turf project today. Donate $10 or $20 or more. Buy a yard for $100. We need the support of everyone in the community to make this project possible.
The stadium field is currently used by the varsity football and the girls’ and boys’ soccer teams. In addition, some lower level football games and soccer matches are held at the stadium as field conditions permit. Presently, an effort is made to give each junior varsity, freshman, and middle school team at least one game in the stadium. A new turf stadium would allow us to expand the use of the facility to not only support our school programs, but also to accommodate community groups and youth programs wanting to utilize the facility. A “turf field” would give us the ability to hold band shows and potentially to host football and soccer playoff games.
